Ants & Green Fingers

Switch on your speakers to listen to the music.

If you always do what you have always done, you'll always get what you have always got.

Ants.....Arrrggghhh! I have noticed Ants on our drive.....YEEEUUU I HATE ANTS, I HATE CREEPY CRAWLIES OF ANY KIND!! After finding their little colony and trying a few different ways of getting rid of them which didn't appear to do the trick I decided to sprinkle soap powder on all the crevices of their colony and around the area and then pour boiling water into the crevices etc and that seems to have done the trick....HOORAY!! I know some might think, well, what have they done to me but I am NOT taking any chances of them coming into the house, sorry. A lot of folk lately have been complaining of having Ants on their drives, gardens etc so there appears to be a bit of a problem with Ants lately.

It appears I have green fingers....woohoo...yep! I currently have Courgettes, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Parsley, Red Peppers and Lettuces growing quite well at the moment and they are looking very healthy but I am still waiting for the fruits of my labour to appear and as soon as I see the first signs of a tomatoe, red pepper etc then I will take pics of them. The Lettuces are thickening up nicely.....HEY! I can grow food! And thankfully the ants were at the front of our home on our drive and not the back where my plants are, I wouldn't want Ants crawling over my plants.

I forgot to say, last week I lost 1.5lb in my weigh in.....BRILL!

I have been okay with my raw but today I did sneak a couple of KitKats fingers and tiny mini swiss rolls. I only wanted the sweet things after eating raw savoury. I really need to make some raw cookies, muffins, cake, cheesecake, any of these to have ready just incase I am craving something sweet. I have already scoffed my 'Lucky Me' Chocolate bars, they were delicous, I think they were the nicest of Raw Living Chocolate Bars, although all their bars are YUMMY!

Well, that is all for now.

Thankyou JC

If you always do what you have always done, you'll always get what you have always got.

I received another award, thankyou so much JC I now have to pass it on but I will have to ponder on that one for now.

Okay. I have a fab spiraliser, the Spirooli, here is a pic of my Spirooli.

I find it difficult to make Angel Hair Pasta with my Spirooli, it has the blade to make Angel Hair Pasta but I can't make it as well as I would like, so after watching many demonstrations of a different Spiraliser, the Saladacco and lots of searching to find somewhere that sells it in the UK I managed to find it at Seemycells....phew! I received my Saladacco yesterday. I ordered it on Friday and received it on Monday morning, excellent service from Seemycells.
and here is a pic of it

Here is another item that I have had on order and have been waiting for since February and I finally received it last week. 'Ani Phyo's Raw Food Desserts' Book. It is brand new out and is FAB! I will be making lots of things from this book and I will post pics.

Not a lot to report today except I received an order that I placed with Raw Living....I LOVE THAT PLACE!! I ordered their NEW Biscru Crackers, NEW Lucky Me Chocolate Bars and a packet of Ashwaganda which is a Superfood and has lots of beneficial properties....hence it being a Superfood....of course!

I will be starting the school walks again because James has quit the monitoring, he said he is sick of the sight of pencils that he has to sharpen every day...teehee....poor kid! I LOVE HIM!!!!

Here is a pic of a Breakfast I had the other day.
I diced a Jonagold Apple and mixed it with
A few Sunflower Seeds
Buckwheaties
Dates
Cashews

I then made some Almond Milk made with, yep, you guessed it...Almonds....teehee I put the pre-soaked Almonds into my Vitamix along with pure water, 4 dates and a little Vanilla, whizzed it up and then strained and squeezed it through a Nut Milk bag. The Milk was DELICIOUS!! Sweet, very creamy and RAW!!

I started to take B12 and I think it is helping with my tiredness. I have read that when following a raw diet we can lack in B12 so I thought I would give it a go and like I said, I think it may be helping, although it might be early days yet to be sure.....time will tell. I suffer with depression anyway.

Below is from Wikipedia click on this link and have a read, it is very interesting.

Early and even fairly pronounced deficiency does not always cause distinct or specific symptoms. Common early symptoms are tiredness or a decreased mental work capacity, decreased concentration and decreased memory, irritability and depression.
Sleep disturbances may occur, because B12 may be involved in the regulation of the sleep wake cycle by the
pineal gland (through melatonin)[1].

Well that is all for now so I will be back tomorrow.

New Music

Switch on your speakers to listen to the music

If you always do what you have always done, you'll always get what you have always got.

I have added some new music to my blog....wooohooo These are just some of my favourites from over the years, no doubt I will be adding more.

Can your find it??

Anyway, my tracking hasn't been bad at all with just a small Chip butty yesterday....one slip up.....not bad at all.
I need to do a grocery shop although I have enough of everything to keep me going for a few more days.

I have been feeling incredibly tired lately, I don't know whether it is my body detoxing or I am not getting enough nutrients, vitamins or whatever, I don't feel that I am lacking in Nutrients or Vitamins because I had started taking Multi Vitamin tablets which made no difference to me whatsoever, so I stopped taking them.....ummmm maybe it is my body adjusting to my raw lifestyle....."well hurry up body, I'm tired of feeling tired!!"

Totally Knocked Back!

If you always do what you have always done, you'll always get what you have always got.

It has been a tad windy today but overall it has been BEAUTIFUL! Sunny and warm...FAB!

WEIGHT LOSS
This week I lost 1.5lb on the scales.....WoooHooo I am back into all this, I MUST KEEP IT GOING!!!!!

Remember I told you about the many uncook books I now have and one being the FAB!! Alissa Cohen book I bought a few weeks/month or so ago? Well I made another recipe from it today - 'Almost Tuna' AND IT IS ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC!! That and the Marina Sauce.....FANTASTIC!! AMAZINGLY GOOD!!

ALMOST TUNA by Alissa Cohen

This book 'Living On Live Foods' is worth every single penny. On Amazon UK it is now costing between £46.85 - £106.09 + P&P quite expensive but I am SOOO pleased with mine and my Alissa Cohen 'Living On Live Foods' DVD....So inspirational and motivating!!

I am going to be making Nori Rolls tomorrow using the 'almost Tuna', I can't wait until Lunch time tomorrow.
The Tuna is made using Sprouts...who would have believed it? Of course other ingredients also.

For years I have not enjoyed my own food because I have cooked it, I have always enjoyed food that anyone else has cooked, they can cook it exactly the same way and using the same ingredients and I have enjoyed it as long as I hadn't cooked it, I don't know why that is but it is, BUT I have got to say, I am THOROUGHLY enjoying my food now since eating raw. Maybe this is what I have been waiting for all these years but I never realised it until I discovered RAW.

Today I have been on track with Fruit and ground Brazil Nuts for Breakfast, Lunch I fell asleep....AGAIN! I only slept for about 1 hour. When I woke up I had 2 pieces of Raw Lucuma Fudge....YUM! For my evening meal I had half of the 'Almost Tuna', I then had a whole Pineapple all to myself.....decadent!! I used my new Cuisinart knives to cut through the Pineapple and as you know Pineapples can be quite tough to get through but the Cuisinart Chefs knife made light work of it.....TOTALLY!! It was like cutting through soft butter.....EASY!!

Saturday

If you always do what you have always done, you'll always get what you have always got.

Good title for today eh? Saturday....teehee.
Okay I made some of the recipes last night and I had them dehydrating through the night and VOILA!!

CHEESY KALE CHIPS.....YUUUUMMY!
I used a different recipe for the Cheese sauce from the last time I made these and this recipe is the BEST!

You can see the recipe here but it is made with Brocolli, I just made the Cheese sauce part and put it over Kale.

CHEESE SAUCE
1 Red Pepper
1/2 Lemon, Juiced
1 Clove Garlic. Take out the centre core, this is the part that gives you Garlic breath
1 1/2tb Nutrtional Yeast, I used 3tb
2tsp Namo Shoyu
3/4Cup Pine Nuts, soaked
1/2 Sunflower Seeds, soaked.

Process everything together until smooth adding more water to get to the consisitency you prefer.
Pour over washed, trimmed Kale.
Massage Sauce into the Kale then place onto dehydrator sheet.
Dehydrate until crispy, I dehydrated over night at 105°

VEG CRACKERS by René Oswald

I can spread Raw Hummus, Avocado, Guacomole, Sprouts, paté etc just about anything onto these. I could also use them as a sandwich cracker or I could break one up and sprinkle it over a Salad, the list is endless.

BANANA & BLUEBERRY CRACKERS

When I made the Cracker recipe I decided to use half the mixture to do a sweet Cracker.
I could spread these with Nut Butters, Raw Honey, Fruit etc etc.
